Birthright Israel began with a bold idea—offering a free, life-changing trip to Israel for young Jewish adults between the ages of 18 and 32 and, in doing so, transforming the Jewish future. Birthright Israel Foundation, headquartered in New York City, is governed by a Board of Directors and run by a professional team, with regional staff across the United States. Birthright Israel is an innovative partnership between the people of Israel through the Government of Israel, private philanthropists through the Birthright Israel Foundation and Jewish communities around the world (North American Jewish Federations, Keren Hayesod, and The Jewish Agency for Israel). In Canada, Birthright Israel is funded through partnerships with local Jewish Federations, individual donors to the Birthright Israel Foundation of Canada and the Government of Israel. Our mission is to give every Jewish young adult around the world, especially the less connected, the opportunity to visit Israel on an educational trip.
