Book review: Cop Town Monday, June 23, 2014 Permalink I was born in the late 1960s and Karin Slaughter’s latest (stand-alone) novel, Cop Town , reminds me how lucky I am to have been born after generations of women who fought for equality and respect. Released: July 2014 Cop Town is the first thriller I’ve read in some while and also happens to be Karin Slaughter’s first stand-alone novel. Slow starting in the beginning but the tempo picked up. The last thriller I read was by Linwood Barclay and, not being familiar with Slaughter’s other books, I was drawn to the fact that it was a crime novel written by a woman, was set in the seventies, and the two main characters were female cops.
