Gropius founded Staatliches Bauhaus, known as Bauhaus, a school of design, architecture and applied arts in Germany in 1919.

It was founded by architect Walter Gropius, and notable members included Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Marcel Breuer, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Designed as a residence by Walter Gropius in 1926, the Gropius House has now been transformed into an open spatial structure, in which the contemporary positions will be shown until the end of 2019. Gropius's house received a huge response and was declared a National Landmark in 2000.
