(Scotsman.com) M Squared has launched a dedicated quantum research centre in the University of Strathclyde’s Inovo building in Glasgow City Innovation District.
Across the Glasgow City region, there’s never a day that goes by without an exciting new development within the world of Science and Innovation. This MSc will be underpinned by the one of the four quantum technology hubs within the UK (QuantIC). But quantum technology enables scientists to measure the arrival time of single photons with very high accuracy, in trillionths of a second. The project will complement the work of the UK-wide Quantum Technology Hubs, which explore the properties of quantum mechanics and how they can be harnessed for use in technology. Beyond its core laser focus, the company has also made a leap into quantum technology… M Squared claims the centre, which will host a team of 50, will be “instrumental” in helping the firm compete globally in the quantum tech market.
